Our hunts take place in Northeast Missouri, primarily in Macon County. With farms in Chariton County and Adair County as well.

These counties have a long-standing reputation for excellent deer genetics, strong habitat diversity, and productive agricultural ground. The combination of row crop agriculture, creek bottoms, hardwood timber, bedding cover, and travel corridors helps support healthy deer populations and mature bucks. This variety allows deer to thrive throughout the season and provides multiple stand and blind setups depending on wind and hunting conditions.

We offer semi-guided style hunts. Hunters are shown property boundaries, stand locations, access routes, and given recommendations based on current deer movement and conditions.

Ladder tree stands are primarily used. There are pop up blinds, box blinds , and tripod stands that are utilized as well.

No. At this time there is not. However, it is highly encouraged to harvest a buck scoring 130 or better.

For archery, the first 10 days of November are best for mature buck movement. For Rifle, opening week of rifle season is best.

Hunters are responsible for their own transportation. If it is wet, there are some dirt roads that become slick. In that case, HMO will assist with transportation via an ATV.

No. There are facilities to skin and process your deer on your own time. Along with local processors who can do it for you.

Yes. Guests stay on our 60-acre family-owned campground in Bevier.

Yes. Hot breakfast, bag style lunch and dinner are provided daily during your stay for the deer hunt. Turkey hunts do not include food.

Yes. Mitch is a full time farmer outside of the hunting seasons. All guides or cooks who work with him are either family members or friends. His young daughters even assist with putting stands together.

Absolutely. The pond beside the lodge is stocked with largemouth bass, crappie, and sunfish. Guests are welcome to bring fishing gear to relax during midday downtime or after tagging out early. There is also a TV and games available to play.

We recommend booking as early as possible to secure preferred dates. Spots are limited to keep hunting pressure low.
